What to expect

Consultation
Your therapist looks at the tattoo — its colours, age, depth and placement — asks about your health and medication, and explains what is realistic. This is where expectations get set properly.

A patch test is carried out in advance and left for the required period before any treatment begins.

The session
The area is treated in passes. It is generally described as sharp — often compared to being flicked with an elastic band — and the area is cooled and dressed afterwards.

Will my tattoo disappear completely?
Not necessarily. Many tattoos fade substantially, some clear almost entirely, and some — particularly certain colours — are stubborn. No one can guarantee complete removal, and you should be cautious of anyone who does.
How far apart are sessions?
Several weeks apart. The gap is not padding — your body needs that time to clear the fragmented ink, and treating too soon does not speed anything up.
