Eyebrow Tinting in Exeter
A tint darkens the brow hairs themselves, including the fine ones that disappear against the skin. The result is a brow that looks fuller and more defined without a pencil.
Current price and appointment length are shown on Booksy.
What brow tint is
Tint is mixed to suit your hair colour and skin tone, applied over the brow and left to develop for a few minutes before it is removed. It colours the hair only — unlike henna, it does not stain the skin underneath.
Because it targets every hair, including the pale, fine ones at the front and around the edges, the brow reads as denser and better shaped than it does bare. It is a small treatment with a disproportionate effect.
Who it suits
- Fair, fine or greying brow hair
- Anyone who pencils their brows in for definition alone
- Sparse-looking brows that are actually fuller than they appear
- Holidays, when you would rather not carry brow make-up

Your appointment
What to expect
- 01
Patch test
Required in advance of the appointment for any tinting treatment.
- 02
Colour match
Your therapist mixes a shade to suit your hair and skin rather than defaulting to the darkest option.
- 03
Develop and remove
The tint sits on the brow for a few minutes, then it is cleaned away and the shape is checked.
Afterwards
Aftercare
General guidance only — your therapist will give you aftercare specific to your skin and your treatment on the day.
- Avoid oil-based cleansers over the brow — they lift colour quickly
- Keep exfoliating acids away from the brow area
- Expect the colour to soften over the first day or two
Eyebrow Tinting — your questions
How long does a brow tint last?
Typically a few weeks on the hair, though it depends on your skincare and how quickly your brow hair turns over. Oil-based products shorten it.
Do I need a patch test?
Yes, and it must be done in advance of your appointment rather than on the day.
Will it look too dark?
The colour is mixed to your own hair and skin tone, and it softens over the first day or two. Tell your therapist if you would prefer to go a shade lighter.
