Henna Brows in Exeter

Henna tints the hair and stains the skin underneath, so sparse patches read as filled rather than gappy. It is the natural step up from a standard brow tint when you want more shape without anything semi-permanent.

Current price and appointment length are shown on Booksy.

What henna brows is

Henna brow tint is applied over a mapped shape and left to develop. Because it stains the skin beneath the hairs as well as colouring the hairs themselves, the brow looks fuller and more defined than it would after a conventional tint — particularly through the front, where hair tends to be finest.

The skin stain fades first, over a number of days, while the colour on the hair lasts longer. That gradual fade is what makes it a good trial run if you are considering something semi-permanent but do not want to commit yet.

Who it suits

  • Sparse or patchy brows that need filling out
  • Anyone curious about powder brows who wants to test a shape first
  • Fair or greying brow hair that needs definition
  • People who want a fuller brow without semi-permanent make-up

Your appointment

What to expect

  1. 01

    Patch test

A patch test is required before any tinting treatment. It needs to be done in advance of your appointment.

  2. 02

    Shape and colour

Your therapist maps the brow shape and mixes a colour to suit your hair and skin tone.

  3. 03

    Development

The henna is applied and left to develop. The longer it sits, the deeper the skin stain.

  4. 04

    Removal and tidy

The henna is removed and the brow is tidied so the shape reads cleanly.

Afterwards

Aftercare

General guidance only — your therapist will give you aftercare specific to your skin and your treatment on the day.

  • Keep brows dry for the first 24 hours to protect the skin stain
  • Avoid oil-based cleansers and makeup removers over the brow
  • Skip exfoliating the brow area — it lifts the stain faster
  • Steam, saunas and swimming will shorten how long the stain lasts

Henna Brows — your questions

How long do henna brows last?

The stain on the skin fades over several days and the colour on the hair lasts longer, though it varies with skin type and aftercare. Oily skin and oil-based cleansers will both shorten it noticeably.

Do I need a patch test?

Yes — a patch test is required before any tint or henna treatment, and it needs to be done in advance rather than on the day.

What is the difference between henna brows and a brow tint?

A standard tint colours the hair only. Henna colours the hair and also stains the skin underneath it, which is why the brow looks fuller and why the effect lasts longer.

Can I have henna brows and threading in the same appointment?

Yes — shaping and tinting are usually done together so the finished brow is shaped and coloured in one visit. Mention it when you book so enough time is set aside.
